Selling Tips

Sell faster on KENGOT. A clear, honest ad with good photos reaches buyers across all 47 counties — and posting it is free.

1. Use clear, real photos

Photograph your own item in good light, from several angles. Show any wear or damage honestly. Never use stock photos or pictures copied from the internet.

2. Write an honest title and description

Include the brand, model, size, condition, and key features. State what is included and what is not. Honest ads get fewer wasted calls and faster sales.

3. Price fairly in Kenyan shillings

Check what similar items sell for on KENGOT and set a realistic price in KES. Mention whether the price is fixed or negotiable.

4. Choose the right category and county

Pick the category that matches your item and the county, town, or area where it is located. Buyers search by category and location first.

5. Reply quickly and meet safely

Answer enquiries promptly, keep your phone number up to date, and meet buyers in a safe public place. Never accept cheques or overpayments, and never share your bank or M-Pesa PIN.
